Just launched – the 2021 edition of this popular free road map. The perfect planning tool for a self-drive adventure through the ‘big nature state’ Western Australia and now includes 8 iconic road trips.

Alongside the most up to date cartography on roads, tracks, and national parks, the map has been customised with special symbols flagging over 90 caravan and campgrounds and more than 100 unique tours and activities.

The map is produced by WAITOC – Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council in partnership with the WA Camping & Caravanning Industry Association and the Road Safety Commission. It features a state wide range of Aboriginal cultural tours and activities including pristine bush and coastal trails, trying your hand at traditional fishing, making your very own hand-crafted spear, foraging for bush food, cooking and yarning with the locals at the campfire, discovering dreamtime legends that dwell in ancient caves or hearing the stories that bring each unique piece of rock art to life - what better way to explore Western Australia’s spectacular nature playground than through the eyes of a local Aboriginal guide.

Aboriginal people have acquired cultural knowledge handed down by their forefathers over thousands of years – theirs is the oldest living culture on earth. Aboriginal guides take visitors on a unique journey along hidden tracks, unveiling a fascinating perception of the country’s rich natural treasures and the influential role they play in paving their cultural lifestyle.

WAITOC – the Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council - showcases more than 100 Aboriginal cultural experiences throughout Western Australia. Pick up the new WA touring map at a range of visitor centres and at over 200 tourism info stands throughout WA .
