Nimowila Tours – Bunuba Cultural Experience
Discover the Spirit of the Kimberley
Two Days, One Night on Bunuba Country
Nimowila Tours offers an authentic cultural journey guided by Bunuba Traditional Owner Ralph Green and his family. This immersive two-day, one-night experience invites visitors to explore the iconic landscapes of Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek while gaining a deeper understanding of Bunuba culture, history, and connection to Country.
The journey begins at Windjana Gorge with a Welcome to Country, followed by camping beneath the towering limestone cliffs. Participants are responsible for their own camping equipment and self-catering during their stay at Bandilngan Camp Ground. Guests are guided through the ancient gorge as Ralph shares cultural stories, history, and knowledge of bush medicines and native flora and fauna found along the way. As evening falls, visitors gather around the campfire to listen to stories passed down through generations beneath the Kimberley night sky.
On day two, guests travel as a tag along to Tunnel Creek, Western Australia’s oldest cave system and a site of great cultural significance. After a cultural welcome, Ralph guides visitors through the cave, sharing stories of its history, landscape, and importance to the Bunuba People. A medium level of fitness is required to fully participate in the guided walks and cave exploration.
Nimowila Tours offers a respectful and unforgettable cultural experience, connecting visitors to Country, culture, and the living stories of the Bunuba People.
