A Range of Cultural Tourism Experiences Unlike Anywhere Else in the World

The Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council - WAITOC - is the peak not for profit Association representing Aboriginal tourism in Western Australia. The Association is autonomous and provides advice and information to all relevant State Government agencies as well as the tourism industry and related sectors.

WAITOC promotes Aboriginal cultural tours and experiences and provides a supportive network for Aboriginal tourism businesses within Western Australia.

There is a statewide spread of authentic cultural tourism experiences on offer - as richly diverse as the country itself. WAITOC believes that Aboriginal tourism is a unique industry in that it allows Aboriginal people to participate at a real and meaningful level while still maintaining and valuing their cultural heritage. Many individuals, families and communities are welcoming visitors to share their way of life, learn about their culture and hear their stories.

WAITOC represents over 150 Aboriginal tourism experiences -  ranging from accommodation, traditional dance and dreamtime stories to contemporary history, safari and bush tours and art.

WAITOC aspires to promote Aboriginal tourism experiences and in doing so foster the development of new, culturally authentic Aboriginal tourism ventures that will attract visitors to Western Australia ensuring that visitors receive the authentic Aboriginal tourism experience they seek.
