WAITOC would like to invite people from Australia and overseas and let your Aboriginal tourism operators share with you their culture.
Aboriginal Tourism Australia and the Department of Industry Science and Tourism jointly developed the brochure: "Welcome to our Land" . The principle objective of "Welcome to our Land" is to facilitate and encourage tourists, as well as the tourism industry, to operate on Aboriginal lands in ways that respect and enhance the cultural heritage and living cultures of local Aboriginal communities and which protect Aboriginal cultural, social, religious and spiritual values.
"Leave No Trace"Australia is an organisation dedicated to the establishment of Leave No Trace Skills and Ethics as a National Minimal Impact Language which will provide positive outcomes in respect of the reduction of adverse impacts on our environment and cultural heritage. WAITOC and Leave no Trace Australia has formed a Memorandum of Understanding working towards a mutual aim for minimal impact practices to be observed to protect the natural environment. The mutual aim is to promote the cultural heritage and living cultures of Indigenous communities and for Leave No Trace Skills and Ethics to be established as the national minimal impact language to be used for the promotion of an educational message which applies to appropriate recreational and tourist behaviour.
